Charm uses a Windows Explorer-like interface to provide quick access to the many functions which are used to document, treat and assist in monitoring patients.

The schedule screen consists of a daily visit list on the left hand side of the screen and a calendar where appoitments are booked on the right hand side of the screen.


:steps to apply a treatment plan to a patient are

• BSA Calculation
• Pathway Selection
• Interaction Checking
• Customising Dosing Rules and Drug Orders
• Start Date and Treatment Location Selection
• Cumulative Dose Management
Once this pathway wizard has been completed the patient is then successfully assigned to a treatment plan and can begin the treatment which has been mapped out for them by CHARM

The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) provides a variety of advantages to cancer care professionals as compared to the paper chart. Included are improved patient care, more complex and timely communication, enhanced personnel productivity, increased operational efficiency, and significant cost savings.

CHARM has an in-built drug formulary, which links to MIMS point of care. Presbriber Information relating to selected generic or trade name drugs can be accessed via this module and printed off for nursing or patient reference. Abbreviated or full prescriber information are both available as is patient specific information relating to the drugs that they are given.

The Pharmacy production module automates the generation of labels, worksheets or external orders, which as a result greatly improves the effeciency of a pharmacy department, reducing costs of service delivery and freeing up more of the pharmacist's time to concentrate on direct patient care activities.
